Practice Sail Program:
Many students do not have access to a sailboat to practice on. If you want more helm time before taking the next class, before chartering, before purchasing your own sailboat, or if it has been a while since you took your last class, our Practice Sailing Program, described below, may be what you need to turn you into a confident sailor.
Once you get ASA certified for an ASA101, ASA103, ASA104, or ASA118 from Delmarva Sailing School or Nockamixon Sailing School, you can retake the same class for 50% off the Delmarva Sailing School List price for the same class. Only students who are already certified in ASA101, ASA103, ASA104, or ASA118 from Delmarva Sailing School or Nockamixon Sailing School and want to retake a class qualify for the Practice Sail Program.
The Practice Sail Program price is our maximum discount. There is no additional couple’s discount as we provide in our regular classes. Couples will be assigned a private double berth with a door. A couple is defined as two students who sleep in the same berth.
Practice Sail students are mixed into our Group ASA Sailing Classes with first-time students, but they do not need to retake the written test, so it is all about helm time and fun.
You can participate in the Practice Sailing Program on any date shown on the Schedule page below for ASA101, ASA103, ASA104, or ASA118, provided it is not already full, and there are at least two first-time students already signed up for the class.
Price includes the following:
- Sit in on the class you are retaking, just like the first time students, only you do not have to take the written test.
- Captain In You Study Guide for which class you retake (ASA101, ASA103, ASA104, or ASA118).
- On board Breakfasts and Lunches.
- Sleep on board the boat for free the evenings of the class and the evening before the class starts.
- Students can bring their own Personal Flotation Device (PFD) or use one of the boats’ Type V PFDs with tethers for free.
How to know if a class is available for a Practice Sail at 50% off our list price?
The easiest way to know if an ASA101, ASA103, ASA104, or ASA118 class is available for a Practice Sail is to contact Captain Mike at Captainmike@delmarvasailingschool.com or 215-499-0335. After you learn that a class date is available, you can sign up using one of the coupon codes below and save 50% off our list price. Please visit the Group Classes and Pay by Credit Card page and click on the individual product (ASA101, ASA103, ASA104, or ASA118) you want to retake, and check availability for either a single or a couple on the class dates you want to do a Practice Sail. This is the same product page that first time students use.
Singles: If it indicates either 1 or 2 spaces are available, then you can sign up for a Practice sail for a single on that class date by entering one of the coupon codes below at checkout. If it says 3-4 or “no spaces available,” then a Practice Sail is not available on that date. Please check another class date.
