ASA117 and or ASA107 Celestial Navigation Home Study. Covers all the concepts included in both ASA117 Celestial Navigation Endorsement and ASA107 Celestial Navigation.
Class utilizes “Solving the Puzzle of Celestial Navigation” workbooks written by Captain Michael Brown, US Coast Guard Ocean Master with over 45,000 nautical ocean miles and ASA Certified Instructor Evaluator.
The course focuses on example problems similar to those on the ASA117 and ASA107 Celestial Navigation Tests. Questions like those on the ASA117 and ASA107 Celestial Navigation tests are answered in full, allowing students to use them as a model when completing the take-home test.
Students submit the completed tests whenever they are ready. There is no deadline for submission of the tests for grading.

Students who successfully obtain an 80% or higher earn ASA117 and ASA107 Celestial Navigation certification. ASA117 is not a prerequisite for ASA107. Students not required to take the ASA117 test if they do not want ASA117 Certification.
