Class is taught by Captain Michael Brown, US Coast Guard Ocean Master with over 40,000 nautical ocean miles and ASA Certified Instructor Evaluator and author of the “Solving the Puzzle of Celestial Navigation” workbooks.
Course focuses on example problems similar to those questions on the ASA117 and ASA107 Celestial Navigation Tests so student can then have a model for how to answer each actual question on the ASA 117 and ASA107 Celestial Navigation tests. Students submit the completed tests whenever they are ready. There is no deadline for submission of the tests for grading.
Includes Digital and Hard Copy of “Solving the Puzzle of Celestial Navigation” Work Books by Captain Michael Brown. Includes Part 1 (155 pages) and Part 2 (248 pages). Questions like those on the ASA117 and ASA107 Celestial Navigation tests are answered in a full and complete manner allowing students to use them as a model when completing the take home test. Also includes upload in PDF format actual ASA107 and ASA117 Celestial Navigation Tests, ASA107 Student Guide, all work forms (Local Apparent Noon Work Form, Polaris Work Form, Stars Work Form, Star Finder Work Form, and Planets Moon and Sun Work form), Universal Plotting Sheet, and general instructions. Also includes Star Finder and DMA925 chart shipped via US mail with Hard Copy of Work Books.
Students who successfully obtain an 80% or higher earn ASA117 and ASA107 Celestial Navigation certification.
